Like many relationships in my life, being a member of one of my current bands RESURGE, seemed to not only be destined but took many a strange turn to eventually materialize. The name was conceived by my bandmate Roy. He and another member of my band, Dan, had been bandmates in a prior project called Audio Empire. I had answered the original ad they had posted when the band was looking for a drummer, but never followed through after initially corresponding. The band ended very unceremoniously after 3 years together, immediately following the release of their debut album. Dan and Roy decided to remain together and put together a new project that embodied the spirit of Audio Empire with new blood, and by chance I had contacted Roy asking if he knew anyone in need of a drummer. Everything clicked immediately and there you have it. The name was meant to embody that comeback spirit, a rebirth and rising from the ashes. The phoenix had always been my spirit animal of sorts, and worked perfectly as being the visual representation of this truly fiery unit. Included below are also our initial t-shirt offerings, both two-sided. The first is a nod to the passing on/rise from the ashes aspect of the band - the crowned skull figure was part of the debut album imagery.
